Rajesh Bansal has done his graduation in Electronic Engineering in 1985. He started his
career as Scientist in ISRO Bangalore. Later he joined electronic manufacturing
companies.
Rajesh Bansal was involved in the development of first Single Phase Electronic Meter, in
India.. Since last 16 years, he is working in energy metering field. He is widely traveled
man and has good exposure of world wide metering technology. He has worked with
India, china, Egypt and German meter manufacturers. |

Mr Rakesh Kumar Goyal

Rakesh Kumar Goyal is a senior power sector specialist with over 29 years experience. He began his career with the Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Board, one of the largest vertically-integrated electric companies in India where he spent almost 20 years in a broad range of increasing responsibilities in thermal power generation, electricity transmission and distribution and management. Later, he spent five years as a Director on the staff of the UP State Electricity Regulatory Commission where he was responsible for framing regulations for power sector restructuring, Electricity Supply Code, benchmarking the thermal power plants, promoting renewable energy generation through bio-mass, and Development of model PPA. He served for three years as Department Head with North Delhi Private, Ltd., the most successful public private partnership in India’s power sector. He spent another two years with Siemens India as General Manager of the strategic business unit responsible for back office of meter to cash cycle of European utilities. He is based in the New Delhi office where he is Chief of Party for the Distribution Reform, Upgrades and Management (DRUM) and the Water-Energy Nexus Activity, Phase II (WENEXA II) projects. He is also a Member of Smart Grid Task Force Working Group I and Institute of Engineers, India. |

Dr. Rao holds a doctorate in Power Systems and has nearly 45 years of experience in the Indian Power Sector. He is a noted expert with an exemplary track record of contribution to the power sector, and has been a Technical Member on the Board of the State Electricity Board of Andhra Pradesh. Dr Rao is retained as a consultant on many prestigious projects by the ADB, WB, DFID, USAID, etc. and many utilities also. He is solely responsible for introduction of GPS based GIS mapping in electrical utilities. He was also instrumental in the execution of the first GIS project in India. He has designed and developed a custom built GIS solution, POWERGIS™ for electrical utilities, which is the first Indian product to receive OGC certification. |
